Louise Nevelson 2 Piece Found Objects Creation Untitled Horse in Shadow Box, 20th Century, Assembled Wood and Pigment.

This atypical 2 piece 20th century untitled (horse in shadow box) “found-objects assemblage” was created by Louise Nevelson and gifted to Diana MacKown for her birthday. MacKown served as her studio assistant, archivist and lover for 20 years.

An American sculptor, Louise Nevelson, born Leah Berliawsky in the Russian Empire in 1899, emigrated to the U.S. in the early 20th century. She was known for her monumental, monochromatic, wooden works.

Louise Nevelson died in 1988 and Diana MacKown in 2025.

This sculpture is in very good original condition with wear consistent with age and use.
