One set of 9 brown glass vessels of Chihuly’s Pueblo Blanket series. This set is quite remarkable as it was the last or one of the last of the basket series sets produced prior to his next iconic forms (sea forms in 1980 and Macchia in 1981) and before his big move. The Pueblo Blanket series was executed during Chihuly’s transitional point between his tenure at RISD, co-founding Pilchuck, the beginning of using gaffer, Benjamin Moore or William Morris, and immediately following his accident.
Further, the Mille fiori embellishment is rather atypical for work of this period and quite similar technically to the Pueblo Blanket inlay he had done prior to his accident.
The experimental brown/orange form with teal rim was so favored that it was produced as it’s own edition in 2019 and retailed for $7,000. Please note, the one you are considering is one of a kind and included in the set. Not of an edition thus enhancing it’s desirability and value.

Dated 1980, this set was likely the last produced by Chihuly at Portland Press glass. The set is comprised of 9 pieces: an under-plate, another smaller under-plate, a cylindrical pot, and 6 free-form vessels, two with the millefiori, Pueblo Blanket embellishment in white and blue.
Dimensions:
Large under-plate 14” x 14” x 3”
Small under-plate 9” x 9” x 4”
Large cylindrical pot with Pueblo blanket decoration 6.5” x 6.75” x 6”
Large free-form vessel with small round mouth and Pueblo blanket decoration 5.5” x 5.75” x 4.25”
Medium free-form vessel with irregular pink-lined lip 4.5” x 4.5” x 3.75”
Small dark free-form vessel with irregular grey lip 3” x 3.5” x 3”
Medium dark free-form vessel with puckered brown lip 4” x 4” x 3.5”
Small reclining free-form vessel in a lighter terra cotta color with turquoise lip 3.5” x 4.5” x 2.5”
