Provenance: This work originates from the Estate of Andy Warhol, and thence, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. This example in addition to examples from 3 other albums (60 sheets) were sold (de-accessed) to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. (Comes with a copy of the Certificate of Provenance.) Christie's will maintain a database of this purchase which will be used to substantiate provenance in the future and supply relevant information to the Andy Warhol Catalogue Raisonne.

Note: The lips are silkscreened onto various different tapes, from masking tape, packing tape and Scotch Tape. They are then placed and adhered to the 8 x 8 1⁄2” page. This example is in very good condition, stable and firmly adhered to the sheet. It is unknown which noteworthy subject these lips were maquettes for.
