This pair of mid century side chairs with centered back splats is attributed to Thonet. Known for its bentwood creations, the company evolved from being a popular mid 19th furniture company to continuing to stay current with the designs of the day. Thonet brought into popularity the use of hot steam as a wood bending technique. This pair has black lacquered bentwood back rests and reupholstered seats without original labels.
