"Nevelson Time + Time
Property of Diana MacKown, 29 Spring Street, NYC 10012"
Provenance: Gifted by Nevelson to Diana MacKown, Louise Nevelson's studio assistant, archivist and companion.

Note: This piece was created when Nevelson and MacKown moved into their 29 Spring St Studio/Brownstone. One of the first things Nevelson did was remove the clock from the wall. MacKown, concerned that they would not know when appointments would arrive or what time it was, asked Nevelson why and Nevelson responded that time meant nothing to her. She woke in the morning to create, broke to drink, eat and smoke and slept at night once she could no longer create.
